Okay, I can't be the only one seeing the posts about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Soooo many cute tops, shoes, and ADORABLE sweaters. Here's the problem, I don't have $500-$1000 dollars to drop on clothes. I know I can't be the only one seeing these adorable clothes but also slightly frustrated because $110 boots (even on sale) are just not in my budget.
THAT being said, I have taken the time to find some adorable alternatives that look just like the most popular anniversary items... but ARE in my tiny clothing budget. Ya girl's got student loans, bills, and a small income... I can only hope to be able to shop the anniversary sale one day. :-) For now, here are some adorable alternatives if you are also a real deal/sale queen like me!
ITEM 1
AH, the signature cheetah slide. I guess $64.90 for a pair of nice shoes really isn't bad. But I would not be running to Nordstrom to make sure to get these ASAP for this "sale item." Cute, but I think I can do better....
WOW! Look at these adorable, cheetah print loafers. Could I achieve the same look? YES. Can I save $40 because these are only $25.50, also YES!
ITEM 2
Okay, I'm not going to lie... I am living for this Free People Sweater... BUT sorry still can't spend $51.00 on this tiny cropped sweater. But wait, is it possible to find something equally as cute for significantly less money?
Why... YES. YES YOU CAN. Would you believe me if I told you this was only $12.00? Or that it is fully stocked in this color? Or that it comes in white and light pink (just like the Free People one)? Because all of that is true!
If you are interested in some other cute options that aren't exactly identical, but still cute and similar, take a look at this!
Distressed: Only $12.00

Pink: This is the same sweater as the blue, just showing this color, too!
ITEM 3
Wow, $91.90 for a white sweater. That is easily one months payment on my student loan. :-)
What was that? Only $21.00? Okay now that might work.
ITEM 4
You. Have. Got. To. Be. KIDDING ME. Do I even have $319.90 on my debit card? Who knows!! Yes, I understand this is alpaca. No, I am not spending $319.90 on an alpaca sweater, when...
I can get a pastel blue sweater, equally as cute, for $24.00. Yes, I know it's not an open cardigan. If I have to sacrifice the open front, buttons, real alpaca wool, and pockets, to save $295.90, that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make, ladies. Anyone else with me?
Or honestly I'll just ditch the pastel blue and get a knit cardigan in gray that only costs me $25.00.
ITEM 5
A black crop sweatshirt... $96.90, what a STEAL! Am I right, ladies??? Hm... I think I can do one better.
WOW. This literally looks like the same sweatshirt, but this one is cute... LOL. The hem is distressed, the length and sleeves are almost identical, but the other one's back is just plain and this one has an ADORABLE tie back. But wait, there's more... ONLY $19.99! HUNNY, $96.90... are you k-i-d-d-i-n-g me.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Okay, I'm not smack talking the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. They sell a ton of cute things, and if I had the extra cash to splurge on some of their items I totally would. I just think it's a little ridiculous what some of their things cost, and I also think there are so many people out there in a similar situation as me, where people want to dress cute and situations like this make it seem like if you don't drop your rent money on a new clothing haul that you're doing something wrong. I'm here to tell you, that you CAN dress just as cute as any other person wearing a $300 sweater. You don't have to buy all designer to be fabulous. :-)
I hope you found this read entertaining, helpful, and maybe you found some affordable and cute new things for your wardrobe! And if you feel like treating yourself for the anniversary sale, you go girl!!
xoxo,
Rachel
